"My work is inspired by the coast, particularly the architecture and metal structures associated with ports and boatyards"
Nicki Hall - Glass Sculpture & Casting
Born in Cornwall 1966, my father was in the Royal Navy so we lived in lots of coastal areas finally settling in Lee On The Solent where I completed most of my schooling.
I attended Portsmouth College of Art and Design in the 1980's where I achieved an HND in 3D Design - specialising in Jewellery. I have travelled, designed, worked and raised a family - far too many things to include here! I recently returned to Bournemouth and Poole College to study a BA Hons Degree in Applied Arts with a view to going into teaching.
As part of the course I have been able to work in the Hot Glass Studio where I have created my recent work which incorporates the process of sand Casting with molten glass, and hand formed metal inclusions. My work is inspired by the coast, particularly the architecture and metal structures associated with ports and boatyards.
