Issis Nash - 3D Mixed Media

I am currently studying Fine Art at The Arts University College in Bournemouth. My practice and research draws on the sensibility that informed Romantic sublime landscape painting to illustrate the beautiful and often terrifying nature of today's complex world.

I am influenced by the Purbeck landscape and an extended 'landscape' that includes the space beyond Earth. We have an increasing understanding of the vastness of the Universe through knowledge and observation of planetary systems, stars and galaxies. Scientists are working on understanding the beginning of time itself. I am interested in how, comparable to religious belief, we chose to have faith in 'truths' that we cannot see. I use the techniques of scale and perspective to create small, crafted, other-worlds encapsulating moments of stillness.
